Browse Forums Bathrooms and Laundry 1 Oct 13, 2011 11:24 pm Hi, we have just finished building with Porter Davis and have been living in the new house for a few weeks. During previous inspections with our SS we mentioned that the tiles looked scratched (he just said they just needed cleaning). I'm not talking just a few scratches. Each and every tile has circular scratches on them (bathrooms and laundry). The tiles are gloss ceramic. The scratches are even more noticeable when the lights are on. We have been trying to get in contact with our current SS. Can this be fixed? and has anyone else had this happen. We don't mind the paint touch-ups needed etc but something like scratched tiles is surely unacceptable?? Help, we need some advice. Thank you! Re: Help all of our new tiles are scratched! 2Oct 13, 2011 11:35 pm Hi louise, it sounds like the scratches i can see on my gloss overhead cupboards a result of harsh cleaning by the PD's cleaners. I do not have gloss tiles, so can't comment but I would call PD and voice your concerns sooner rather than later. Maybe you can go visit a tiling place and ask whether this is 'normal' for your type of tiles and if not what may have caused it. Do you have some spare tiles to compare it to? Good luck and hope you get it resolved. stuey. Re: Help all of our new tiles are scratched! 3Oct 14, 2011 7:50 am Put it in writing ASAP. Also mention that you mentioned it at previous inspections. You want to clearly establish and docuemtn that the problem existed before you moved in. Then you can address the problem...
