Browse Forums Bathrooms and Laundry 1 Sep 21, 2011 10:39 am We just finished completely redoing our bathroom. We did a wet area shower (no hob) because my parents will be staying and disabled access is very important.
Overall working well, except the water from the shower floor is spreading *much* more across the floor than we'd like - sloping tiles aren't containing it as much as hoped, as a result after a shower the access to the toilet and vanity is quite wet. Did a bit of research and a collapsible neoprene or silicone barrier seems to be the answer, they're quite common in the states and Europe, e.g: http://www.allinonemobility-shop.com/coware.html Have not been able to find anything like this in Australia though, quite disappointing. Could anyone suggest materials or source for such? Curious as to what it is, how much, and what is it like to live with ? The wall lining is Zenolite Plus - its a high gloss laminate, very glass like in look and feel. We like it a *lot*. Easy to install, very easy to clean - just wipe with a microfibre cloth, no grout lines. Also used it for the splash back in our kitchen. Not cheap, though way cheaper than glass - Its approx $450 per 1000x2400 sheet. The aluminion extrusions for corners, joins and endcaps are about $30 per 3m length. Regards my water dam, I found Tyrex who make recycled rubber water retension barriers for showers - pretty much perfect for my needs. Also a business in Brisbane who do custom weighted shower curtains. Thanks As far as I know, it only comes in one size - 1000x2400mm, that's fine for a std floor to ceiling run. Yes, we do have 1.5 panels on one side - space constraints Its easy to cut with a good quality circular saw. Note:This is Zenolite *Plus* - specially hardened for bathrooms. There's also plain ordinary Zenolite (no plus) that comes in a larger variety of sizes, suitable for kitchen splashbacks etc. I go mine direct from HVG.
