Browse Forums Bathrooms and Laundry 1 Sep 12, 2011 8:37 am I'm currently gathering inspiration pics for our future bathroom reno. At this stage, I'm thinking of having dark floor tiles (either brown/grey/black) with lighter walls/wall tiles. Would anyone be willing to share links or picture if you have a bathroom in these colours?? We are having black floor tiles, white wall tiles and a black/White glass feature strip. I'll post a couple of images that inspired me. You can also check out my tiles in my blog (link in my signature) if you can't wait until I post pics tomorrow. Will post a link to a page with some pics below. For our cabinet and basin I went laminex polar white doors and a dark "marble look" top with a porcelain basin. I wouldn't recommend this particular basin to anyone. Our cabinet and basin are a basic style. We spent money in other areas. I haven't any photos taken since. We painted the walls in a fairly strongish colour because our ensuite is very large. we used dulux igloo. Re: Bathrooms - dark floors, lighter walls ... 7Sep 13, 2011 5:28 pm We went for the opposite, light floors, very dark chocolate walls. The bathroom isn't huge but it works. The dark wall is also in the shower where the tap wall is, you can see it in the reflection of the mirror. I have had a number of people say they love the color scheme so I can't have chosen too badly http://i1001.photobucket.com/albums/af135/grom40/George009.jpg Re: Bathrooms - dark floors, lighter walls ... 12Sep 19, 2011 6:38 am Thanks for the pics!! kexkez - I love the marble effect! What don't you like about your basin? We'll be having a basic style too. Mclaren - those floor tiles are something like the colour I was initially thinking (though not sure now with our wall colour) - and wow that bathroom is huge!! Starz - having the colours the opposite way looks great too. I really want to get a shower wall niche (is that what they're called??) like you have! Thanks CCC - I'll check out your blog. I absolutely love your bathrooms Rizzo!! I searched for your thread after your name was mentioned Very nice grom. The rest of our house (one day once it's finished being renovated!) will be fairly neutral so hoping this colour scheme will work well - great to hear you've had good comments! Re: Bathrooms - dark floors, lighter walls ... 13Sep 19, 2011 5:04 pm I completed a renovation on my bathroom almost 2 years ago with this scenario of dark floors and light wall tiles. I'm also going through the colour selections for building my new home still with this same idea, floor to ceiling tiling white tiles, with a black/grey feature strip and dark floor tiles. obviously will upload photos when that happens http://imageshack.us/photo/my-images/577/bathroom1.jpg/ or http://imageshack.us/photo/my-images/42/bathroom2r.jpg/ BB Barossa Bubbles Building own design Fairmont Homes viewtopic.php?f=31&t=51265&hilit=Barossa+Bubbles Roof on-bricks next Hi All, I am looking to go with tiles instead of laminate timber flooring throughout my living areas for my new build (Ashbury 29 - Henley).
