But the fact that it was going to come to $8k for the four ensuites turned us off. Still think they look good. Some things are worth waiting for. Re: Alternative to wall tiles in a shower 3Feb 21, 2011 5:21 pm lastone On account of the fact that I'm not a great cleaner, has anyone used an alternative to wall tiles in the shower? Got photos? You can have wall tiles or wall stone with very few joints but it will cost you Re: Alternative to wall tiles in a shower 5Feb 21, 2011 6:13 pm We have just installed vinyl sheeting on the bathroom and ensuite walls. I have used in in hospital situations. Very few joins, easy clean, comes in patterns and can be welded at the seams to provent leaks. Re: Alternative to wall tiles in a shower 8Feb 22, 2011 5:51 pm Just found this as I don't want tiles in my bathroom/ensuite.. http://www.laminex.com.au/uploads/broch ... ochure.Pdf Re: Alternative to wall tiles in a shower 11Jul 29, 2011 7:16 pm Interesting thread, did anyone end up using Aquapanel? I found the price is approximately $60/square metre, just for the panel. It looks nice, I might ask the builder if I can use this instead of tiles for the section behind the shower, in front of the bath. Re: Alternative to wall tiles in a shower 12Jul 29, 2011 8:15 pm I haven't as yet as we are not building till end of year early next year..... but can say will definitely not be having tiles or grout anywhere in the house!.... so going with aqua panel in bathroom and if not polished concrete in wet areas going with safety vinyl flooring. Re: Alternative to wall tiles in a shower 13Aug 13, 2011 2:28 am Hi guys, there are a few options out there. Glass is one that seems to be taking off, like a kitchen splash back. Check out my website to view photos of a full glass shower recess with custom stainless steel base.
