My parent's showers both have the rail type and they are never adjusted; they always stay at the same height. For me, I got the cheapest showerhead the builder would supply and will screw on one with a cord later on, just like I did at the place I am renting right now while I wait for the build. Re: Hand Vs Rail Shower - Methven Satin Jet kiri 3Aug 09, 2011 10:22 pm I adjust mine every single day. If I choose not to wash my hair it's all the way down from neck height, if I wash my hair it's all the way up, I take it off and run it through my hair when rinsing my hair, I also find it a hell of a lot easier to rinse the shower off after scrubbing and cleaning it! Ours was standard - but if it wasn't I certainly would have paid the extra to have it! But each to their own hey! Sleven Moved into our Atlantique MkII 36 by Carlisle Homes Re: Hand Vs Rail Shower - Methven Satin Jet kiri 4Aug 10, 2011 12:18 am Hi Testedbytime, Hubby installed the Methven FUTURA SATINJET ON RAIL, in our ensuite about 12 months ago, BC renovation. I selected the Methven after a test by Choice magazine, in that test it came out tops. I must agree with the testers, as I have purchased another along with the shower mixer, which apparently has trade mark technology to prevent temperature fluctuation. If the mixer is as good as the water pressure that comes out of the Methven showerhead, then I will be a very happy girl. It will be very nice to know that I won’t be doing the water dance in the shower when someone turns on a tap. The one that has come out of the ensuite has now been installed into our main bathroom. I purchased the shower rail on ebay because if was considerably cheaper. P.S. love the rail. Hi I would be interested to hear how you go with the mixer as I am looking at these because we are building a dual occupancy on acreage with tank water so I can see lots of potential for water pressure fluctuation. I would appreciate it if you would keep us posted. Thanks Paul Re: Hand Vs Rail Shower - Methven Satin Jet kiri 6Aug 10, 2011 11:10 am megg, where did you get it from? Also, how much was it do you remember? Re: Hand Vs Rail Shower - Methven Satin Jet kiri 7Aug 10, 2011 5:11 pm Hi Paul, Here is a link to the Methven mixer specs http://www.methven.com/au/range/futura/ ... tech-spec/ Our ensuite is still under construction, but as soon as it’s finished I will let you know. Re: Hand Vs Rail Shower - Methven Satin Jet kiri 8Aug 11, 2011 11:40 pm We opted to buy them without the rail as we bought the wall shower as well and thought it would look too busy We also bought the matching mixer and were impressed by its claims of preventing temperature flactuation.
