Browse Forums Bathrooms and Laundry 1 Aug 05, 2011 9:05 pm I am having a corner regular sized shower and am concerned about tap placement. I am having a tap set (not mixer) and am feeling these should ideally be centered on one wall. Is this how everyone else feels? And should taps and shower head by on the same wall? Interested in what the norm is and initial plumbing has just been done and it seems taps are not centered Should I be worried? Re: Shower tap positioning 2Aug 05, 2011 10:44 pm my personal preference is to have the taps where they can be reached from outside the shower so that you dont have to put your arm in or around the water stream coming from the shower head. looking at the photo tho, I think you may have another problem. How close is that speed brace to the plastic water pipes? will water vibration eventually cause a rubbing effect to cut the pipe on the edge of the brace? Re: Shower tap positioning 3Aug 06, 2011 2:10 pm We are renovating our ensuite + bedroom walk-in robe and laundry. We are having a walk-in shower with a mixer tap, the plumber has positioned the tap on the back wall, so we can turn it on and mix it to the correct temperature without having to do the cold/hot dance around the shower. Hopefully this image works,as this is the 1st time I have inserted an image Re: Shower tap positioning 5Aug 06, 2011 2:35 pm Thanks for the comments Taps will be on wall closest to shower door opening so reaching through water to turn on is not an issue was just worried it will look silly if not centered on that wall. And thanks will certainly check how close the bracing is to pipes Re: Shower tap positioning 6Aug 06, 2011 3:47 pm I know what you mean dimo. Personally I prefer them centered even if it is practically to have them slightly off so you don't get wet beforehand. I believe it's the norm to have the slightly off center. that will depend on the kitchen bench depth. you'll have to specify it so it allows for both the tap and the sink 1 7400 7 5147 Brass or 2) Stainless steel made - which Kitchen tap is good for drinking.Brass kitchen taps in Australia contain lead… 0 6740 |
