Browse Forums Bathrooms and Laundry 1 Aug 02, 2011 11:45 am Hi, What is the usual height of the rainhead shower above the glass of the shower screen. Our screen is 2m high, and our ceiling is 2700. but I think a large dropper would look odd??? ALso anyone got the rainhead showers with led lights in??? Re: height of rainhead shower above shower screen 2Aug 02, 2011 11:27 pm Usually the shower head should be at the same height as the top of the shower screen, although you do have very high ceilings for a bathroom which as you say may make the arm too long. You could raise the top of the shower screens and shower recess tiling to a higher height and have the shower head sit at that same height? I think it would also be determined by how far away you want the water source to be from your head... Re: height of rainhead shower above shower screen 3Aug 04, 2011 2:33 pm I think the showerhead being way above the screen would look more odd than a long arm. I'd try to have the head as close to the top of the screen as possible, and would also try & get a higher screen. And there's no way I'd be having lights in a shower head. height of rainhead shower above shower screen 4Aug 04, 2011 4:42 pm Do you have an option to have the rainheads on an arm from the wall? We gave a double shower in ensuite 1 with rainheads on each end. Ours are on gooseneck arms from the wall. The head itself is slightly lower then the shower screen whilst the curve in the gooseneck goes slightly above the screen. Some things are worth waiting for. Re: height of rainhead shower above shower screen 5Aug 07, 2011 4:50 pm We have 2700 ceilings and the rainhead thing sits above the screen height by about 20 or 30 cm. It doesn't look odd, I actually had to go and check if it sat above it or not as I hadn't even noticed in the 20 months we've been here. I don't think I'd want it to sit at the shower screen height, if there was someone pretty tall in the home, it could be a problem as you stand directly under it to shower. Just as a matter of interest, we get no splashing with it being above the screen height. I leave you to fend for yourself, figure things out yourself. Terrence Malick Re: height of rainhead shower above shower screen 6Aug 30, 2011 1:10 pm Hi, I am hoping to have a rain shower that is flush mounted into the ceiling, ie no arm to hang down. They look very streamlined, but I suppose this will require a higher than usual shower screen. Hadnt thought of that, til I read your post. Does anyone have this type of shower, and can give feedback? Thanks. DIY, Home Maintenance & Repair If the railhead is so poorly fixed it is also likely that the railhead is also non compliant, what about overflows and sealing railhead to the gutters?. 3 4869 Your shower screen has failed in the way it is designed to fail with tempered glass. You could replace it with laminated safety glass but make sure it has AS standards logo on it 1 7653 I'll look into different shower heads and ask the plumber about some engineering and see what he says.
