Browse Forums Bathrooms and Laundry 1 Jul 29, 2011 12:52 pm Just after some opinions on wall coverings for our two new seperate WC. Sizes are 3.5 x 1.2 2.3 x 1.2 Just wondering if floor to ceiling tiles is a good option or are painted walls a better option. I don't want them to become echo boxes. Any advice suggestions would be great! Thanks Seperate WC floor to ceiling tiles? 3Jul 30, 2011 7:54 pm They are pretty huge toilets - do they include vanities as well ie powder room? Personal choice - only our main ensuite is tiled to the ceiling. The other 3 ensuites and 2 powder rooms are tiled to skirting height. Some things are worth waiting for. Re: Seperate WC floor to ceiling tiles? 5Jul 31, 2011 12:02 pm Rizzo I have them in both our WC's and think they look fine. I've seen on here some people say they look like public toilets, but I don't think so I think it depends on the tiles you use. It can look great, or it can look like a public toilet. As an alternative, you could tile to about 1500-1600mm on three sides (the splash zone ) and paint above the tiles and on the remaining wall. Makes for easier cleaning when you have boys... Re: Seperate WC floor to ceiling tiles? 8Jul 31, 2011 3:07 pm when I went to my tiling appointment, my sales person sugguested a compromise, that is 1.2m tile height. It's not floor to ceiling but it's better than just the skirting tile. Hope this helps with another option Re: Seperate WC floor to ceiling tiles? 9Jul 31, 2011 5:31 pm Rizzo Southies kek ....... We just tiled to around 1.2m behind the toilets, but just to skirting height on the the other walls. If we had a lighter tile we may have gone higher, but not with the dark tile we have. The wall directly behind seems to take most splashes, but we don't get many.
