Browse Forums Bathrooms and Laundry 1 Jul 28, 2011 11:12 pm Hi All, I have an old bathroom that in the near future I wish to renovate, the ceiling and walls are of masonite and underneath that is treated pine boards with hardwood as studs. Would I be able to put plasterboard straight onto the masonite both with the ceiling and walls, pending they are level and not wavy in some way, take it all off back to the studs or put battons up over the masonite then plaster? If so or not what plasterboard would I use,the normal plasterboard as I have done the rest of my rooms with or a water resistant board. Ok an edit to this post, running a level over the walls it looks like they have bows in them,so battons over the masonite or take it all back to the studs and level from there. Thank you Jimbo73 I would use heaps of adhesive on each sheet and screw rather than nail. use as many as you like cheers Simeon 1 4043 Hi, we live in an area where the black soil is prone to a lot of movement.
