Browse Forums Bathrooms and Laundry 1 Jul 17, 2011 7:46 pm Hi all , I need some advice I have discovered the shower has leaked into the floor boards and caused extensive damage which as we all know costs a bomb so I will be renovating . I have removed all old tiles, bath ,shower recess , vanity , villaboard and ripped up old floor , disconnected all plumbing and plugged all water sources . I have replaced old floor with yellow tongue as (previously installed) and I have checked joists and re-enforced accordingly. I was going to lay ply or ??? over shower floor (what options are there) and what is the most used ? as I have a pole home and concrete sheeting is very heavy and hard to get into position--- ? can i use ply on balance of floor ? to keep all the same height then apply membrane then tile ????? many thanks to all suggestions Re: full bathroom reno - help needed 2Jul 18, 2011 5:06 pm Hi, use only cement based tile underlay sheets 6mm ,glued and nailed as per marks on the sheet then waterproof as per Aust. standards. We renovate bathrooms and this is the acceptable method in your instance.
