Browse Forums Bathrooms and Laundry 1 Jun 30, 2011 11:42 am I have a very old school bathroom which includes a half metre high tiled partition at the end of the shower/bath. I am looking to renovate with new shower, tiles, vanity. I have never organised a rennovation for anything and I have no idea where to start. I have a budget of around $8k, is this realistic as this wont be a DIY job? I want to find a company/person who can do it all in one as I have no idea who comes in and does what first etc etc. HELP!!! Re: HELP!!! Where do I start 3Jul 03, 2011 1:44 pm Planning is the most important in getting what you want. You need to have an idea of the look of the bathroom, have a look at some magazines. you may not be able to use the same products due to your budget, but you can go after the same look. get an idea of the colour and style you want to achieve. Ready made fittings are cheaper and there is a good range, of vanities, showers, toilets. It may be cheaper to use a seratone lining for the walls rather than tiles. These are all options you can dicuss with a reliable plumber/ builder. My nephew has done his bathroom for around the same price. He did the demolition work himself under guidance from the builder. Saved a days wages of the builder, he also took a day off when the plumber was there to help put the pipes along the roof space. All these small things save up to a bit. Hi there, long-time lurker but first time posting. I've bought a house 2 and a bit years ago and last year we had some major water damage on a converted pergola area… 0 7897 Yes, unless you are in a low intensity rainfall area or the area is protected from rain. Do you have access to NCC Part 2 or can you download it? I can email you a copy… 10 12376 Thankyou so much 😀 I've decided on White on white for doors and trims, White on white 50% on ceiling and Mt buller for walls. Fingers crossed it will look OK 😀 2 7136 |
