Browse Forums Bathrooms and Laundry 1 Jun 27, 2011 7:13 pm Hi We have the new soft close toilet suite lids put in our home. The seat/lid has come loose and moves around. Unlike our old plastic toilet lids that had easily tightened screws on the side, we have NO idea how to tighten these. Any plumbing genius's out there can give me advice. Thanks Re: SOFT CLOSE TOILET 2Jun 27, 2011 7:18 pm Had the same problem with mine last week and the builders plumber had to fix it!! You need an allen key to undo the chrome hinges at the back of the seat (in front of the cistern), remove the seat and using the same allen key tighten where the seat fits onto the pan and finally reassemble. This is how the plumber explained after he'd taken forever to figure it out. Hope this helps because I tried to find a fix on the net without success. The allen key is supplied with the toilet. I think one end is smaller than the other from memory.
