Background - old 50's house in good nick, but went under ( 4 feet above floor boards) in Brisbane floods.
Ripped out all gyprock halfway up, removed all of the kitchen and bathroom fittings, house was down to a shell. Left to dry for 3 weeks before installing new gyprock and the long process of painting etc.
Last thing left is the bathroom - removed the tiles 4 weeks ago, which were foul. Bathtub had a huge rats nest under it filled with rat ****, that was disgusting to clean up. We removed all the gyprock, up to the ceiling in there, also the old asbestos lining. Trouble is it smells *really* musty, even moldy, unbearably so and its not clearing. Have nuked it many times with various mold killers - Selleys, Bleach solution, Clove Oil, Tea Tea Oil (diluted). It always comes back and I'm starting to smell it in the room next door. Desperately worried we have some creeping mold infestation which is going to wreck the house. I also suspect the bathroom wasn't very well sealed in the first place.
Should we get an inspector in? who would we contact for such a thing? Budget is running tight
