Hi guys,
I am having troubles deciding on a bathtub for my renovation & they need an answer by tomorrow. I am having a steel bath(it doesn't have a shower over it), & my initial want was for the surface of the base to be smooth. I have now been told the bath chosen has an anti-slip pattern on the base
I have found an alternative bath with the same dimensions that has a smooth base but the problem with this one is that it is technically not designed to be built in to the wall (it doesn't have the proper lip). So If I decide to use this one the villaboard & tiles will be sitting on a flat edge & the waterproofing is really only going to be the strip of silicon between the bath & tiles.
So the dilema is choose 1. smooth bath with slightly suspect waterproofing or 2. bath with antislip base & proper waterproofing.
Are there any thoughts on how important the waterproofing is around the bath? Surely there won't be that much water splashing along the edge (there are no kids in household).
I would also love to hear from anyone that has a bath with an antislip base & whether they think it detracts from the look/feel.
