I love the look but wonder what it feels like to walk on..... http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_68rPIWu_OQg/S ... _1_1_1.jpg Re: pebble tiles on BATHROOM FLOOR 2May 07, 2011 10:57 pm The rental where I was while house was being built had them on the shower floor (cheep, cheep imitation) and while they looked OK, being black meant they had to be cleaned every day because any trace of soap made them look a mess. I wanted coffee/taupe colours for both shower floors but would have blown the budget....hope you are sitting down when you get the quote for the whole bathroom floor, LOL. Re: pebble tiles on BATHROOM FLOOR 5May 08, 2011 12:49 pm I lived in a rental with them a few years ago - they were harder to clean than tiles, you really had to scrub more because of the uneven surface or they'd get mouldy/soap scummy. But then, nothing's maintenance free so maybe it's worth a bit of extra cleaning if you really like them. The colour was a mix of pale browns and whites and after 24 months they still looked okay with only a weekly clean - easier than black ones seem to be to maintain. Re: pebble tiles on BATHROOM FLOOR 6May 08, 2011 10:18 pm hi! I also wanted to do this but they do need alot of grout, and the more grout the more dirt. I have steps in my garden where I have pour cement and then puched pebbles in. I have to sweep it with a hand held brush to clean around each of the pebbles and then I have to spray it with with pressure hose. I agree it would look great!! and I think it would feel nice under your foot too!! But it most probably be hard to clean..... But hey - I put polished Porcelain tiles in my bathrooms. They are meant to be hard to clean too! What you do for love hey?? Goodluck. I have a little section in my garden where I thought this would be a great idea as well and yes, it does take some extra care when sweeping. Dirt and sand and things get caught in between the pebbles. Not sure how this translates to having a similar type of thing on a shower floor but I would imagine it would get pretty scummy in there!
