No different from a normal one just that you can mop underneath IMO. Probably less storage if the truth is told - as your cupboards are shorter then a normal vanity on a kickboard. Some things are worth waiting for. Re: Do you have a wall hung vanity 6Apr 18, 2011 4:30 pm i had one, marginally less storage space but don't forget the bottom of most vanities waste 150-200mm in kicker pannels anyway. It was in a small room and i think it helped make the room feel a touch bigger, also i got to hide the heater vent and floor waste under there. In terms of cleaning i didn't notice much difference running the mop under is the same effort as trying to clean the corners of the kicker really (which is not much). I would get on again if it suited the decor Re: Do you have a wall hung vanity 7Apr 18, 2011 10:28 pm Kyton do you k ow what the maximum weight that can be Reyes on the benchtop is? Would it be able to handle an average size person standing on it (to clean a high mirror for example) Re: Do you have a wall hung vanity 9Apr 18, 2011 11:40 pm I have seen your bathroom Kyton on threads about freestanding baths. I was admiring your tiles and infact I'm on the lookout for something as similar to that as I can find. Do you mind me asking where yours came from? Afer initally planning a standard bath, I'm also thinking about a freestanding one now, just for something different. Your bathroom is beautiful. Ohh I would love to know where the tiles are from too.... please? They are beautiful! Re: Do you have a wall hung vanity 12Apr 19, 2011 11:33 am Thank you all for the complements. The tiles were from Earp Bros - I think they may have a shop in Sydney and Melbourne as well as here in Newcastle. There is actually two tiles in the main ensuite. The plainer one here then a patterned one on the shower wall. Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Some things are worth waiting for. Re: Do you have a wall hung vanity 17Apr 19, 2011 4:15 pm Joles, I thought it might be him. The Hurt Locker was an amazing film. Did you see that series Generation Kill on ABC2 recently? Similar theme, really interesting and shocking insight into Iraq, and the delightful Alexander Skarsgaard (with a tan instead of white vamp makeup). I really recommend it. But back to wall hung vanities... My ensuite is tiny - 1.5m x 2.5m. The vanity is at one end, between two walls. It's such a tiny room that I can't decide between a wall hung vanity or a bit of extra storage space. Not sure if the illusion of extra space works when the vanity is only seen from a toilet less than 2 metres away... Also I suspect if I had a bit of space underneath the vanity I'd probably shove a set of scales and a bin underneath, thereby destroying the spacious modern uncluttered feel of it... Re: Do you have a wall hung vanity 19Apr 21, 2011 9:32 am We have put in wall hung vanities in all our bathrooms, storage is not a problem for us, but I do love the large deep draws we have put in. One of the reason we went the wall hung esp in the kids bathroom was to keep the water off the bottom of the vanities (anyone with young kids who have baths knows how much of the water in the bath ends up on the floor) . I also put small cane baskets under the vanities for dirty clothes.
