Browse Forums Bathrooms and Laundry 1 Apr 15, 2011 9:06 am Hi Im just wondering if anyone has one of these?or what you think of them? we are in the process of finalising plans, and these are one of the standards the company offers.[not sure if same brand, need to check that out]Im not sure what I think of them, and to be honest we only had a 2minute glance at it, but Im not sure! Im actually a bath person so the comfort etc wont bother me, just the rest of the family, as a builder friend said we will hate it, for roomwise when showering in there! opinions anyone? http://www.highgrovebathrooms.com/index ... t&Itemid=1 Re: curved shower enclosure 3Apr 15, 2011 5:57 pm ha ha, yes I have 3!! love them, but get the shelves at the back, not the side and 1000 x 1000 not 900 and waste at the back, not in the middle.... have pmed you. Re: curved shower enclosure 4Apr 18, 2011 1:13 pm my only concern is replacing the glass, perhaps someone with experience can comment if its easy to get this replaced especially getting it replaced by a glazier rather than ordering a spare part from the company. It should be noted the last three renos i have done have been for investments and tenants tend to be harder on houses and owners. Re: curved shower enclosure 5Apr 18, 2011 4:38 pm wouldnt you have to replace the glass in a square shower too? do you mean cos it is curved might be more $$? they come in 4 panels, I am sure you can buy them from the companies who sell them as parts. they have little wheels and you can lift it out (the door panes)at the bottom if you are into cleaning little wheels! Re: curved shower enclosure 6Apr 18, 2011 6:09 pm I don't rate your chances of getting parts or replacement glass from the people that sell these screens. To get curved glass made to measure would be quite expensive. Your best bet if you need parts would be to buy another screen of the same kind. The alternative is to get a screen made locally with a warranty and parts availability but that means a square or splayed design. I've pulled a lot of these screens out and replaced them with made to measure screens because of a lack of parts but the problem with that is that the silicone usually leaves a stain on your tiles. This happens with all screens because the silicone penetrates the slightly porous surface of the tile, but if it is a conventional shaped screen it can be installed back in the same spot and covers any residue. With a curved screen you will have a curved stain. Something to think about before making your purchase. Re: curved shower enclosure 8Apr 19, 2011 6:36 am we dont have tiles, they come with a white tray. no tile marks! Re: curved shower enclosure 9Apr 25, 2011 10:10 pm We put one in our last house. As a corner shower it has heaps more room inside for showering than the ones that have the door at a 45 deg angle. If I had the space for a full rectangle/square shower I would go with that though because the curved glass would be expensive to replace if it was broken. Just about completed a renovation project and hit a small issue that we didn’t see We have laminate floors now where we had tiles before (turned out it was actually 2… 0 4909 I'll look into different shower heads and ask the plumber about some engineering and see what he says.
