Browse Forums Bathrooms and Laundry 1 Mar 09, 2011 12:19 am If this kitchen ever gets done I'm onto our ensuite next. This room has 2 doors, one off the hall and one off our bedroom. It is a narrow space so as you enter from the hall everything is in a row on your left. Toilet [little room with door] then shower then vanity It's all lined up and there is no way to change the size of the room. Do we have to keep it the same in terms of layout do you think? Thanks! Re: Long, narrow ensuite-how to position things 2Mar 09, 2011 10:34 am Hi Star-Anise, It's always a little easier if you can find a plan or picture to show what you're talking about. We have a narrow ensuite in our holiday house. It was also meant to be a second bathroom if we had lots of people at the house so we also have an entrance at the end from the hallway and an entrance to the master bedroom. I think it's only about 1200mm wide. Here is how we did it - slightly different to yours, I think. We used sliding cavity doors so that we didn't take up any internal space. The shower is at the end and takes up the whole width of the room and we could fit a double vanity in there as well as the toilet. The toilet isn't separated but it hasn't been a problem. For info on our build: viewtopic.php?f=31&t=43093 Built the McLaren by Dechellis - slab down 22 Feb - handover 30 Aug 2011 - and gardens finished 9 Dec 2012!! Long, narrow ensuite-how to position things 4Mar 09, 2011 1:34 pm That looks pretty much the same way the bathroom will be in our pool house. We are only planning on a narrow room along one end to maximize the dining / living areas instead. Some things are worth waiting for. Re: Long, narrow ensuite-how to position things 5Mar 09, 2011 7:54 pm Mine is like the pic (mirror reversed) above except my vanity goes from the shower to the other end of the ensuite (2m nearly) and the toilet is on the left as you walk in. Dimensions are 1.5 x 3m. The vanity was installed today and it has so much storage. We are also having a built mirrored shaving cabinet. If you do hear anything different, would be great to know 4 8214 dimensions on your original plan are inconsistent and with accurate dimensions (including site plan, upstairs and down) i could make a proper scale drawing with furniture… 3 7497 So it looks like we finally have some movement on site! Definitely later than expected, but I'll take any progress at this point. I'll drop by over the weekend to get… 5 27464 |
