Do you prefer to have one double towel rail or two single towel rails one above another? Re: Towel rails - what do you prefer? 3Feb 27, 2011 7:00 pm definitely 2 single ones. Have had double ones in previous homes and towels simply do not dry and ending up getting smelly. Only problem is sometimes finding the space to hang 2 single ones. Re: Towel rails - what do you prefer? 5Feb 28, 2011 2:05 pm I vote for two single rails. With doubles, if the rails are too close together (or your towels are thick) often when you pull one towel off the other gets dragged off and falls on the floor. Re: Towel rails - what do you prefer? 6Feb 28, 2011 5:17 pm Any chance of listing the reasons why you prefer one double towel rail, for those who voted for this option? Re: Towel rails - what do you prefer? 7Feb 28, 2011 5:24 pm There isn't terribly much room in our main bathroom, and only room for 1 double. We have a ladder in our ensuite, but I actually prefer the double rail as the towels don't touch, but they do on the ladder thus making drying more challenging! Henley - Wilshire Mk 3 ... That way you can spread two single towels over the double rails which makes them dry easier and you have space for when people stay to hold extra towels. That said, I would prefer a heated towel ladder if I lived down south. Re: Towel rails - what do you prefer? 9Mar 01, 2011 6:15 am My wife insists on having a four to five rail rack high up on the wall so can reach with the tips of her toes, no probs for me and my son just to flick the towels over the rails. She says higher up on the wall gets the air circulating more often being close to the main window. I have to admit rails positioned low may not get too much air circulation. I am not to confident on those heated elements or oil based rack I think the prices they sell at is an overkill. Out of interest never though of using two single rails one above the other, anyone have some suggestions on how high is too high for the upper rail and how low is too low for the bottom one, or have a pic of one that looks good, mainly so can convince the wife it is a good idea.
