Can you see how the bottome edge of the cornice is flush with the face of the tile ? This is what you DON'T want : Now,in this pic the cornice has been packed out ie some packing material has been plastered between the wall & the cornice to make the cornice stick out from the wall. Of course, you can't see that here because the tiles are in place, but the end result is that the bottom edge of the cornice STEPS out from the top edge fo the tile . This is what you DO want : It seems a little hard to see.............can you see the difference Pepsi_Drinker ? I couldn't be bothered with packing out the cornice. White tiles, white ceiling I really don't think anyone is going to notice Re: A question for those with floor to ceiling tiling 10Mar 14, 2011 8:58 am Yes, we do. The gyprockers put the cornice everywhere except the bathroom, they returned to do it there after the walls have been tiled. We chose floor-to-ceiling tiling and that triggered a change to square-set plasterboard in the bathroom/ensuite/wc A question for those with floor to ceiling tiling 12Mar 14, 2011 1:28 pm Ours are the same as Kristofw - the plasterers returned after the tilers and installed the cornices over the top of the tiles then the painters came through and painted. Some things are worth waiting for. Re: A question for those with floor to ceiling tiling 15Mar 16, 2011 3:33 pm If you are using cornices always fit them after the tiling. A cut you dont see (even if it's done perfect) is always better than a cut you do. If you must have the cornices first, ensure your tile thickness and adhesive are not going to create lipping to a thinner cornice edge. Cheers Re: A question for those with floor to ceiling tiling 16Mar 16, 2011 8:27 pm No cornices in our bathrooms, but then we don't have any in our house at all, so guess it would look a little odd having them in there only... definitely a great modern look if you can get it done this way!
