Browse Forums Bathrooms and Laundry 1 Dec 10, 2007 7:04 pm Hi,
We're renovating our bathroom & have decided to replace the bath & (separate) tiny shower with a decent sized shower bath - but we're having trouble finding a tub of the size we want that is suitable for a shower bath. We want it to be at least 820 wide & up to 1700 long. As for depth - the less the better since we hardly ever use the bath & are really only including it for resale (& the construction will be easier as there is no floor under the current bath) - we'd like to find something around 350 to 400 deep. Does anyone know where we can get a bath of that size? Thanks Graeme S Re: Tub for Shower Bath 2Dec 10, 2007 11:19 pm I've just re-read your post and I assumed you meant a 800 x 800 type bath shower tub. In that case - I still say - don't do it - I did it in the 80's and my tenants all complained about it.
But as you are after a decent bath - that can also be a decent shower base then as sirgoat said - I'd also recommned a clear glass panel that goes along the edge of the bath. Their are some nice ones that also have a foldout or sliding door - so you do not have to walk halfway down to get to taps if you are not able to put them on the wall halfway down. This thread talks about a shower bath that should help you out. http://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?t=3746&start=0 Bath: Decina modena. I picked this one as we were restricted to a shower over bath, and this tub comes extra wide so it's perfect as a shower base. Steve Re: Tub for Shower Bath 3Dec 11, 2007 7:10 am we have put one into the new house because my other half does lke the occasional bath but there was simply no choice of both. We opted for a 850x1800 square edge kinda bath i think its the tara from lanark spas. Allot of shower cubicles are only 900x900 so its not a huge step down i think the bad bath of the shower are the older 750 wide baths with that shower curtain that blows in with the wind and sticks to you, we are having a frameless glass piece covering about 1/3 or so of the bath.
Realising allot of people dont like them we opted to pay a little extra (less than $500) to upgrade to a 10 jet (6 main side, 4 small back) spa with heater for resale so that hopefully people would see it as nuteral or better yet a posative feature for very little cost to us.
