Browse Forums Bathrooms and Laundry 1 Jan 08, 2011 10:46 pm Heya Just wondering about anyones experiences with mini corrugated iron cladding in a bathroom. Is it ok for wet areas? I have an,,, shall we say vintage bathroom with asbestos and wall paper. Yeah sounds like work. Can i take the easy option and (not rip down wall paper and not deal with asbestos too much) just clad it all with some mini corrugated iron. I think it would look allright,,, I think, even though it will go to ceiling (9ft). Thoughts feelings and advice greatly appreciated!!! I have a feeling it is only to dado rail height. I can remember thinking that it felt like I was sitting in an old outdoor loo (minus the spiders!). I'm pretty sure that was the effect she wanted and it fits with her house well. Even though her house is quite modern, it has a lovely 'in touch with nature' feel. Perhaps floor to ceiling would be too much - hard to tell without seeing your loo first? If you ran it vertically it would emphasis the roof height and perhaps make the room feel narrower and like a shaft. I suspect horizontally may look better. You could always sheet directly over the top of the asbestos sheets with VJ panelling or just plain villaboard.
