Browse Forums Bathrooms and Laundry 1 Jan 04, 2011 10:37 pm We are having a tiled recess in our ensuite shower. The builders are on with it now. They have made the recess then added the bricks above. They used a piece of wood as a temporary lintel which they have now removed. There are 6 large bricks above the recess (1.2m) high. Will the bricks be safe with now support holding them. Is this the normal way - I had kind of expected to see some kind of lintel to support the 6 layers of bricks above. Cheers, Toby.
