Browse Forums Bathrooms and Laundry 1 Nov 17, 2010 3:42 pm First time poster...long time reader..HELLO!!! So, we have hit a snag towards the end of our new home construction (2weeks to handover!). We have inspected the bathrooms and realised that the lights above the mirrors have been placed too high. It looks like they have centered the battens half way between the ceiling and the mirror, which is approx 30cm above the mirror. We don't want our lights waaaay up there, however, we don't particularily want to move the battens, plaster and repaint as it will probably be quite noticable. Does anyone have any suggestions or ideas on what we should do? Or do you know of any wide style light fittings that would be suitable? Re: Help - lights above bathroom mirrors 2Nov 19, 2010 7:02 am hi welcome to the posting world now youve started its like pringles you cant stop lol maybe after hand over you could put in a taller mirror to meet the lights may not look so bad then. or tell the builder your not happy with the height of the lights and move them down they shouldnt have to pull it all apart gl stay safe happy building Re: Help - lights above bathroom mirrors 3Nov 19, 2010 1:59 pm We have the same issue stacki2001 However we are no longer in a position to cross fingers and ask builder to change it. That might be your best bet. I am still searching for lighting but suspect we'll have the wiring position moved and patch the holes. I have been keeping an eye out for a style of light fitting that drops downwards from that high position on the wall. I've attached an example pic. That might look OK. I'm still undecided.
