Small toilet / powder room - Wall to ceiling or not? 22Dec 29, 2010 9:01 pm That and the fact that I liken it to a public toilet when it is wall to ceiling in just a straight toilet. For us to do all 4 ensuites and 2 powder rooms floor to ceiling would have been close to $10k. Some things are worth waiting for. Re: Small toilet / powder room - Wall to ceiling or not? 23Dec 29, 2010 9:04 pm Financial reasons and also our tiles are reasonably dark (they are the floor tiles). We just did the skirting and then about 1.2m high at the back of the toilets as we have concealed cisterns. I leave you to fend for yourself, figure things out yourself. Terrence Malick Re: Small toilet / powder room - Wall to ceiling or not? 24Jan 06, 2011 6:40 pm qonyx, I am considering tiling from the floor to ceiling in my small toilet (900mm wide) I curently have just a row of skirting tiles which I can't stand seeing the bare tops of the tiles. tried looking at border tiles but they also had a unfinished edge. someone told me over xmas that would look silly all tiled in such a small room, so I am not sure what to do now. Re: Small toilet / powder room - Wall to ceiling or not? 25Jan 06, 2011 8:40 pm We are having tiles to the cistern height on the 3 walls in the toilet only. The floor tiles are black and the wall ones are a taupe(ish) colour to match closely to the paint colour. Hope they will look ok. A balanced diet is chocolate in both hands. Some things are worth waiting for. My mother made a similar comment to me once and now I think of it every time I see floor to ceiling tiles. Mind you, most shopping centres have much more upmarket bathrooms than I'm prepared to pay for in my home, and the vanity basins I chose turned out to be the same as in our local shops' loos. I'v decided just because they're public loos doesn't make them "not nice". Now, council public toilets - they can be manky - but then who would chose stainless steel toilet cisterns and painted besser block walls for their own loo? Back to topic - I still prefer just a skirting tile - makes the room feel softer. I would have had timber floors if the council would let me. Seems to be cleaner and gives it a more consitent look. We actually have an outside toilet near the pool which is going to be so much easier to keep clean. Hubby says he will clean that one. Open the door, swish a little bit of domestos around and spray it with the hose .... I dont think so my love! I loved that in our old house's tiny bathroom I could hose the whole room with the shower head. Fabulous when you're toilet training babies! I don't think we're a skirting-tile-only kind of family! Re: Small toilet / powder room - Wall to ceiling or not? 31Jan 17, 2011 7:47 am I love the toilet roll (especially chrome ) to be on tiles. So we are getting our powder rooms done to 1200mm. But our bathroom & Ensuite is being done to ceiling. To match in the powder room, we are also doing our laundry to 1200mm. Hey, I am wanting to add a second toilet to my house, bit we have limited room. There is a hallway/entry that is never used, so was thinking this could be an option.
