Browse Forums Bathrooms and Laundry 1 Oct 22, 2010 8:12 pm Two bathrooms are being built in similar dimensions. One is a main bath, the other an ensuite. Where would you put the bath? Bathroom in the main bathroom makes the most sense to me in a family style home but it takes up more space, meaning the ensuite appears more spacious than the cramped main bathroom. Herein ****** my dilemma. Please help me to decide People make one happy, not houses? I do not think so. Houses are more to be trusted than people. Better for families IMO. Then again we have the only bath in our house in our ensuite but this is because we have no "main" bathroom - instead all bedrooms have ensuites containing showers toilets and vanities. Some things are worth waiting for. Re: Bathroom advice needed 3Oct 22, 2010 10:56 pm There's obviously room in both so why not put one in each? Who is it going to be used by? For resale, if it is possible someone with younger kids is going to buy the house they will most likely want a bath in the kids bathroom (it's a necessity for me). I wouldn't bother putting a bath in the ensuite unless it could be a decent sized bath, because neither of us would use it. Kids use theirs every day at this stage. Re: Bathroom advice needed 4Oct 23, 2010 12:22 am I think there's a general expectation to have a bath in the main bathroom unless you have a really tiny house/apartment. A bath in an ensuite appeals to some. Neither hubby nor me use a bath so we've put in a double shower in our ensuite. Don't know whether we will use both at once very often but it's a touch of luxury that means more to us than a bath would.
