Browse Forums Bathrooms and Laundry 1 Oct 17, 2010 8:27 pm In my initial plan I was going to use corner shower screen, semi-frameless or even frameless. Recently I've been told corner shower screens often leaks as shower is pointed right on the door... I like semi semicircular screen showers as well. I was initially dismissing them because they're usually installed over a base. I prefer tiled floor. Recently I've read a lot about the difficulties with water proofing walk-in showers on timber floors. Now I'm completely confused about the choice of the shower screen: * Corner or semicircular? * Base or walk-in? I've found semicircular, walk-in screen. I can only imagine how precise should be the floor tiles??? Did anyone consider similar choice? On a base, not tiles (we did diy install), but there is quite a bit of adjustment allowed for in the design so I'm sure you could do tiles. But... Marbletrend were outsourcing the glass and the quality wasn't great. We had the first glass doors replaced under warranty, and on the second, the seal strip where the two doors fit together has come off the glass at the boottom, rendering it impossible to close them properly. I'll take some pics tomorrow to show you. In all fairness, we never got round to asking marbletrend to fix/replace the second doors and I suspect they would. Our install was done 4-5 years ago; they may have changed glass suppliers and not have the issue anymore. That said... I lurve my curvy corner shower! Status: sold our first house, moved in with parents, bought our second in Pakenham, still planning to build in a few years time. Re: Shower screen - corner or semi-circular, base or tiles? 3Oct 18, 2010 6:34 am You can get a similar thing from Reece but with a single door. My husband chose it because we previously had a corner shower with the angled door and he felt cramped by it. (The curved door gives you more room to flap your arms about in the shower.) We installed ours ourselves with the base but you can buy without the base. Tiling so you get the fall right might be tricky for a DIYer though! Ours never leaked or had any problems with the door.
