Browse Forums Bathrooms and Laundry 1 Oct 15, 2010 7:11 am Hi, I need your wisdom guys… I have a bit unusual and cramped layout with corner spa bath. In my original plan, I was going to install wall hung, semi-recessed vanity unit on the full available width 1500 mm. In his opinion, 1500mm unit will look too big. Here is what he recommends Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ I’m torn apart… I want more room for cosmetics etc, don’t really like everything on display. Re: Vanity unit: wide or standard? 2Oct 15, 2010 1:14 pm Personally I'd prefer more benchtop. It's not that far to turn and reach the main towel rack and you could mount a handtowel ring on the wall above the vanity next to the wall. Advantages I can see: * a larger mirror over a long vanity would make the room look bigger * a longer bench means you're less likely to knock cosmetics into the sink * a longer bench gives space for someone to be using the mirror for makeup etc while someone else washes hands Possible disadvantages: * Are you 100% sure about your internal wall measurements and that the 1000mm shower and the 1500mm vanity will fit next to each other? * perhaps not being able to clean the shower wall next to the vanity HTH Kylie Re: Vanity unit: wide or standard? 3Oct 15, 2010 1:24 pm I would go for the 1500 as well. If you have a hairdryer, brushes, hair straightener, cosmetics, tissues, soap pump etc etc...you will need that space as yes gentlemen, we do have them all out at one time and agree with kb46 comments.
