I am really surprised by how well it wears. We have stayed in 3 units here (all with painted tiles) and none have shown any wear, and as these are holiday units they are knocked around a fair bit! They are no more slippery than normal floor tiles either. I don't know what type of paint was used but the floor & wall tiles have all been painted as well as the laminex benches and cupboard doors in the kitchens and bathrooms - I would imagine all units were done at the same time by a professional. The only thing I'm not really fussed with is the look - the current unit we are in has the bathroom floor painted white with flecks of grey through it and it looks strange in the grout zones as you don't normally use white grout for floors. Another unit we stayed in, the floor was painted grey and I thought that looked much better.
