Browse Forums Bathrooms and Laundry 1 Sep 19, 2010 7:37 am Looking into freestanding baths. Does anyone have one. Wanting to know the pros and cons please. I've seen the previous topics on them. Just checking if anyone else has some more comments to make. A lot were saying they were getting etc. Thank you. Re: THOUGHTS ON FREESTANDING BATHS PLEASE 2Sep 19, 2010 8:43 am We have one, love it. It's easy to clean (dont have to clean tiles or anything around it!) Easy to clean behind. We were able to have a full length window too and it lets so much light in (faces south). Wouldn't change it for anything http://i896.photobucket.com/albums/ac165/aaron4erin/ensuiteDSC_0030.jpg http://i896.photobucket.com/albums/ac165/aaron4erin/ensuiteDSC_0028.jpg Re: THOUGHTS ON FREESTANDING BATHS PLEASE 3Sep 19, 2010 10:05 am I love them - built in baths seem very 70s in comparison. I ended up buying a copper slipper bath from a company in Bali. Quite expensive, but a definite feature. Also how far off the walls is the top of bath? Just trying to work out how much would be enough room to get around and clean the bath. Still working on the layout . Thanks Chris Re: THOUGHTS ON FREESTANDING BATHS PLEASE 5Sep 20, 2010 5:38 pm That is EXACTLY the sort of bath we are hoping to have in our bathroom Erin! We also will be having a large window in front of it - the problem is, that window offers a nice view, so not sure how we will combine that with the privacy expectations! Hey guys, I'm sure someone asked me this question in another thread, but I dont think i ever answered it So... from the bottom of the bath to the skirting board below the window there's 22cm. From the top of the bath to the window there's 27cm. I usually clean behind there by jumping in the bath and leaning over Re: THOUGHTS ON FREESTANDING BATHS PLEASE 7Sep 20, 2010 8:38 pm Aaron & Erin Hey guys, I'm sure someone asked me this question in another thread, but I dont think i ever answered it hmmm hmmm Yep that was me but thanks for answering now Erin Better late than never Re: THOUGHTS ON FREESTANDING BATHS PLEASE 8Sep 20, 2010 8:45 pm thirsty Aaron & Erin Hey guys, I'm sure someone asked me this question in another thread, but I dont think i ever answered it hmmm hmmm Yep that was me but thanks for answering now Erin Better late than never Re: THOUGHTS ON FREESTANDING BATHS PLEASE 9Sep 20, 2010 8:48 pm I shall forgive you Erin, I have the same bath as yours but not as much space. Do u think it will be a real drama when I finally do get it to clean behind it Re: THOUGHTS ON FREESTANDING BATHS PLEASE 10Sep 20, 2010 8:58 pm I love free standing baths. I saw a bathroom place in Richmond some time ago and loved the round ones. I think any freestanding contemporary bath looks absolutely stunning. How many baths have you had in it Erin? I've had x1 in ours (no where near as nice as yours nor like it) and was thinking the other day I must use our ensuite bath! Re: THOUGHTS ON FREESTANDING BATHS PLEASE 11Sep 20, 2010 9:02 pm We have a massive freestanding spa bath. We have ours placed in the centre of our ensuite - so can completely walk around it. Ours also has integrated controls, taps and a pull out hand held shower which is fantastic for cleaning both the bath and grubby kidlets LOL Some things are worth waiting for. Me - personally I hate baths so have only been in twice. 'Tis too deep for me and I keep sliding down Some things are worth waiting for. That is gold Aaron & Erin I think as long as you can get a mop behind there you'll be right. The space we have is more than enough for me to reach down with a cloth and reach, or the duster buster. 3 3561 Bathroom renovation will likely include a back-to-corner bath and we’re considering a freestanding tap with hand-held shower such as the picture included.
