Browse Forums Bathrooms and Laundry 1 Jul 16, 2010 2:53 pm Hi all, we are thinking of getting a freestanding bath. My question is.....are they comfortable? For anyone that has one what type did you get and do you recommend it. At the moment, we have been given the dolce vita cool bath. We are still yet to go into the store and "lay in it". Thanks Re: Your experience with freestanding baths 2Jul 16, 2010 3:28 pm We have a free standing bath in the main ensuite (minor ensuites only have showers). Ours is huge - 1900m long and 800mm deep. Spa bath with integrated taps so no separate plumbing. We have ours slap bang in the centre of the room which is fantastic as you can walk completely around it to clean - plus having the pull out shower also helps for cleaning (both small children and the bath itself LOL). Me personally I hate baths so I have only used it 2-3 times in the 7mths we have been in. DH and the kids however use it a couple of times a week. DH moreso as he has mounted a TV on the wall in front so he sits in there with a beer and watches the NRL. Some things are worth waiting for. Re: Your experience with freestanding baths 3Jul 16, 2010 4:05 pm We intend to do the same as you Kyton. We are having one in the ensuite but main bathroom will be more or less standard. Ours will be 1800mm long x 800mm wide. There are some optional headrests aswell so may?? think about that. No tv in our ensuite though. Your DH is a very lucky man. Do u know what type yours is. Ours will be just acryllic (cant afford more expensive) but it does have a 10yr warranty Re: Your experience with freestanding baths 4Jul 16, 2010 9:25 pm I love free standing baths however I've heard they are a pain in the b**t to clean, not much access around the back if they are against a wall. Re: Your experience with freestanding baths 5Jul 17, 2010 10:28 am The reaer access is a pain for cleaning the floors. We have a Marbletrend 1680mm Highback Re: Your experience with freestanding baths 6Jul 18, 2010 12:07 am Love mine too. I put mine about 50mm from the walls to help with the cleaning. I only got a 1600 long one and i find it comfy but i dont use it very much. Re: Your experience with freestanding baths 8Jul 18, 2010 5:18 pm Thanks everyone for your comments. Think we will go with it. We will be opening up our ensuite and hopefully will make life easier for cleaning. I think it will be great DIY, Home Maintenance & Repair Grind texture and paint off at blister up to top of fence Will see damp cement render 5 15937 3 72852 Hi there - I'm not sure if you're still active on this forum but I'm from ABC News and am trying to find people in Victoria who have had… 5 29317 |
