Browse Forums Bathrooms and Laundry 1 Jun 25, 2010 5:45 pm Does anyone has experience with ordering custom-build vanities? My floor plan warrants 1500*300 single basin vanity. They aren’t easy to get and there is little choice available. Also, I strongly prefer drawers to the doors; I think they are much easier to operate. Here is my “dream vanity” Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ My question is around the basin. Initially I though I can simply put 400mm deep “above counter” basin over 300mm deep benchtop. http://www.bathroomwarehouse.com.au/bas ... asins.html Now I discovered special semi-recessed basins. http://www.bathroomwarehouse.com.au/bas ... asins.html They are specially designed to extend past the vanity. Only problem, “size A” should exactly match my benchtop. It’s bloody hard to find one with exactly 300mm size, they’re always 275 or 315mm. The basin will hang onto the front – I need smaller drawers and the door which only opens ¾ way. Is there anything wrong with “above counter” basin installed as a “semi-recessed” piece? Re: Custom made vanity with semi-recessed basin 2Jun 25, 2010 7:19 pm Try http://www.adpaustralia.com.au/furniture.html , then if you choose the Esadra range, you'll get a pdf file with their full range. Its not exactly what you are after with only single door, but the Esadra Semicasso 1500 single bowl vanity it just might be a close match. Possumchops Now the proud owner of 3.7acres of Serenity. Re: Custom made vanity with semi-recessed basin 3Jun 26, 2010 10:45 am Ozshots I've been having similar problems this week and feel it's all because the plumber doesn't like wall hung vanities with glass basins... http://www.bathroomwarehouse.com.au/bas ... essel.html Have you thought about asking a kitchen company, or a carpenter/joiner, to quote on a custom vanity? Last week I looked at the DIY kitchen/bathroom display at Bunnings and think I'll add an oiled Beech timber benchtop for something different. A DIY kitchen company is yet another option as sometimes they will sell flatpack to you for a DIY installation, or quote to do the installation for you. Like you, I would prefer drawers but at the moment not having a (highly) visible waste pipe under the wall hung vanity is more important. Glass basins (from what I've read) can be fitted two ways, one being on the vanity top and the other is partially recessed (up to approx half depth). Not sure if this helps?? Don't wish to hijack your thread with my problem so will start another.
