Browse Forums Bathrooms and Laundry 1 Jun 22, 2010 8:02 pm Hi, Does anyone has example of vanity being next to a shower screen? I can think of 3 scenarios: 1. Vanity touches the glass screen. Does that make sense? I would probably need some sealant between the two... 2. Small gap - 20-40mm. Cleaning in between probably will be the issue.... 3. Large gap - 150-200mm. Again, would that look any good? This probably is the least evil... Any thoughts? Re: Vanity next to a shower screen 4Jun 23, 2010 7:42 am I don't have a picture, but both our showers are next to the vanities. I'd go for either no gap with silicone to seal between, or as we've done, a gap that's wide enough to get the broom and mop into. The bathrooms in our old house were very badly designed, with a gap big enough to collect lots of dust and hair, but not big enough to get any cleaning implements into. I spent a lot of time on my knees, cleaning floor tiles by hand with cloths. I'd really hate to have to clean the shower glass with barely enough room for your hand between screen and vanity edge. Re: Vanity next to a shower screen 6Jun 23, 2010 9:21 pm Candylea, Southies What is the wall made of? Is it a proper timber frame + plaster or something much lighter on construction side? Does your plasterer build it? take2, Do you ever need to clean in between the screen and vanity? How do you do this? Cheers, Alex Re: Vanity next to a shower screen 8Jun 23, 2010 10:55 pm I believe it is a brick wall and then plastered. I guess it's done with the internal wall stage as shown in pic below... Re: Vanity next to a shower screen 9Jun 24, 2010 9:29 pm Southies we have a space between the 2, not a wall ozshots. how do we clean it? easy...... Have to agree really easily, plus having the suspended vanity you can easily whip the broom and mop around. You could replace it with laminated safety glass but make sure it has AS standards logo on it 1 11186 Transform your bathroom into a sanctuary of calm and sophistication with Hera Bathware's Bathroom Vanity Collection.
