Browse Forums Bathrooms and Laundry 1 May 17, 2010 2:16 pm Hey everyone, my first post here, depending on how much I feel like doing to this house it most definitely won't be my last. Recently aquired what will be my first house to renovate. And well, the bathroom is the first port of call. I think it's safe to say the house was built in the 60's and I don't think the bathroom has changed since then. It's a Square room, 8x8 foot. And is the main bathroom for the house (secondary toilet downstairs in the garage) So, the room currently contains a cabinet, a free standing sink, a toilet, a shower, and a bathtub. I'm looking for ideas as to how I can open it up, and was hoping you guys could help. Immediately I think that the cabinet/sink could be combined. Any good websites for floor plans for bathrooms? I'll try and get some photos up to give you an idea of what I'm working with, but it's on a second level and moving the plumbing wouldn't be much of an issue if I had to go down that path. Combining the shower and bath? Thanks Re: Small square bathroom design. 2May 17, 2010 3:40 pm Have a look in the this thread http://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?f=1&t=23013 That is my bathroom and it is not much bigger than yours. the vanity is 150 cm and only leaves room for a door. I have a short bathtub which is great for the kids and a decent size shower with frameless shower screen. feels bigger than it is. In hindsight I should have gone for a 120 vanity with a tall boy next to it to give me extra space for maybe a laundry basket. I could always use autocad at work, but this decent for now. Anyway I threw some ideas around with a floor plan tool online. Here's roughly what it looks like now. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v203/ ... throom.jpg And if I got rid of the bath I'd be leaning towards something like http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v203/mmmBax/idea.jpg I'm just not convinced about giving up the bath just yet. Will keep plugging away. Re: Small square bathroom design. 5Jun 02, 2010 5:28 am The bathroom on your sketch shows 2 sinks??. Anyway, our main bathroom is also quite small. Plan is for Walkin tiled shower with glass door and also the wall above bath is glass, large vanity mirror, floating vanity. I kept the colours light, got good halogen lighting. No idea about the driveway question, but your price for a house that size including landscaping seems very good! 1 6164 Hi all, We are looking to build a new two storey house in western Sydney. Can anyone recommend a smallish builder to go with? We are trying to stay away from the big… 0 12149 consider putting in wall WC instead of robe in the same bedroom, then it might be doable to hook up to the existing piping. 4 6632 |
