Browse Forums Bathrooms and Laundry 1 May 15, 2010 5:43 pm Hi Everyone We are looking at adding an extra bathroom onto our house, but want the easy way out. Does anyone know any places (websites would be helpful) that sell bathrooms ready made that just need to be plumbed/installed? Thanks Re: Prefab Bathroom 2May 16, 2010 1:20 am PUBAustralia http://www.pubaustralia.com.au/ We installed the "Aussie Suite" 23 yrs ago... geez time flies There are a heap of designs and variations. Apart from the usual washer & seal replacements in the taps and toilet, the unit is showing no signs of age. It's all fibreglass construction with battens on the outside that you can afix your wall cladding to ie gyprock etc It comes in 3 pieces, the base and sides up to about 600mm and then the other 2 pieces are the rest of the 2 sides with the 2 ceiling halves. The pieces fit through a standard door opening. In our case, as I was replacing the fibro back wall anyway I just ripped the wall out and slid it in. Virtually everything is already mounted & fitted, incl the basin, pan & cistern, taps, hooks, towel rails etc etc etc. If I remember correctly, even the light, light switch & powerpoint were all mounted. The day before we removed the old bathroom, and repositioned the old waste to match up to the new bathroom. It comes fully plumbed and wired, so you just need to hook up one waste, one hot & one cold in, and power. In 2 days we had removed old and had a new finished, complete and working bathroom. Cleaning is easy 'as' according to 'the boss', being all fibreglass... because our bathroom is at the back of the house she sprays the the bathroom inside with a fibreglass cleaner then gets the garden hose from just outside the backdoor and hoses it clean LOL (obviously not hosing near the electricals). Cost wise it was comparable to putting in a complete new bathroom in the 'traditional' method, but time & disruption wise it wins hands down. As you can probably tell, I'm a big fan, after 23 yrs it's proven to be a winner. (LOL and no, I have nothing to do with the business apart from being a satisfied customer.) Re: Prefab Bathroom 3May 16, 2010 6:39 pm Great thanks for that. I will give them a call to find out their current prices. To be in business for over 20 years is great, and to hear your bathroom has no dramas thats even better! Fingers crossed they are within our budget! I don't fancy having to DIY a bathroom :S Our kitchen took 6 months... I could just imagine.. Render your bathroom walls, two opinions versus the one, makes you wonder. 3 6057 Hi Geoff Install Puddle Flange prior to any screed. Puddle flange needs to be flush with the surface so you may need to grind away the surface to achieve this.
