Re: Vote for your favourite layout... 2Apr 20, 2010 1:49 am I voted 3, mainly because I love bath baths to stretch out in and I'm an avid Tetris player the round bath looks ill-fitting of the room from this perspective - perhaps in the flesh it would be stunning but I'd have to see it to picture it. The rounds shape also means difficult cleaning around the sides and back... Number 1 I'm not keen on at all - first thing you see when you enter the room is the dunny! I have a thing about loo's Re: Vote for your favourite layout... 3Apr 20, 2010 8:25 am Hi Ikon, If it's an ensuite and you have a bathroom with a bath elsewhere I vote number 1. If it's the main bathroom then Number 3 Agree with V round doesn't work for me, but I'm not a design guru Still not in. Don't ask!? Re: Vote for your favourite layout... 4Apr 20, 2010 8:38 am IkonInteriors, is this a main bathroom or ensuite ? If it's for a house ( assuming it's a 2-bedder or more) then you really should have a bath - for resale value. If it's for a 1 bed unit, leave out the bath altogether. 2 bed unit -have a bath for resale value . I'd have a shower over the bath (if the bath is necessary) - not the best looking , but then you don't cut out the family market. A bit more info on the house: It's only a 2 bedroom cottage, and this is the only bathroom... Both the baths are freestanding as we'll be using 300x600 travertine tiles on the walls that I'd like not to have to cut to fit around the hob of a bath. Another reason for not wanting a shower over bath is that my grandmother can't climb in and out (she doesn't live with us, but I do have her stay quite often). Check out the tubs I'm looking at here: http://www.acsupplies.com.au/bath/freestanding-bath.php it's either the A-304A (rectangle) or A-034 (circle). P.s did I mention - small bathrooms are hell!!!!! Re: Vote for your favourite layout... 8Apr 20, 2010 9:53 am That round tub does look pretty cool, bet it's fun to bathe in Re: Vote for your favourite layout... 9Apr 20, 2010 10:10 am suh I love freestanding baths you may need to add a bath for resale Ikon when kids are small a bath is a must have. +1 - agree totally. But having said that, as much as I love the baths on that website I'd be spewing every time I'd need to clean behind it & with kids that would be several times a week BUT that's not your problem but the future buyer's . Hang on, you'll be using it too won't you ? Quote: P.s did I mention - small bathrooms are hell!!!!! As for the door way it can go anywhere, but as I'd like a cavity slider you have to take into account where it slides back to which can be a bit limiting.
Re: Vote for your favourite layout... 15Apr 20, 2010 1:53 pm 3 more me. Seems the most practical and pleasing to look at. Renovation Thread: viewtopic.php?f=31&t=38489 Re: Vote for your favourite layout... 17Apr 20, 2010 2:03 pm What about a shower over the bath, then get a bathboard for your grandmother. They're a cheap and easy solution for someone who's not able to get into the bath. It's a board that sits over the width of the bath - sit on it with your legs outside the bath then spin around so legs are inside. Otherwise it's option 3 for me too ...... Re: Vote for your favourite layout... 18Apr 21, 2010 12:10 am Hey mummagoose, that's actually not a bad idea... but my nan is 90 in a few months and basically she needs one of those shower seats as she's pretty frail (I don't think she'd be able to get her legs up-and-over the side of the tub). As far as cleaning goes, both the baths are free standing, so the round one might work out easier to clean behind than the other as it has more free space surrounding it? I'll let you all know how it turns out, I'm going to check out the tubs on Saturday (see if I can fit in the round one hehe) Re: Vote for your favourite layout... 19Apr 21, 2010 1:17 am I just think these things come down to what you want. If you can live without a bath, that would look the best, but let's face it, most people want a bath! I would - so it's really up to you. I'm not a fan of the round bath, but then again, if I saw it I might. I'm not a fan of the shower of the bath either, but surely its up to you, you may not mind it... I think you should pick what you want, try and incorporate a bath if you can... A thankful person is a happy person. [/color]My hobby design blog: http://aviewondesign.blogspot.com/ Thanks for the suggestion. The space between shower and sinks was too tight. I agree about the toilet location. So I have tried two other options: The lower one is… 3 4561 Possibly both depending on the sizing. Idea of working from the centre is that you dont have a 20mm thin tile at one end and a 400mm at the other end. A quick search on… 3 6203 You never have a fridge against wall as you’ve drawn.
