Browse Forums Bathrooms and Laundry 1 Mar 10, 2010 9:15 pm Hi all, Just after some advice with regard to the positioning of taps in showers... our new house now has plumbing in and the shower head and mixer tap for the bathroom shower (900 x 900) are on the same wall. However, the mixer tap for the ensuite 1200 x 900 shower is on the 1200 wall, while the shower rail position is on the short wall. I would have thought firstly they'd be on the same wall (the short wall), but anyway the tap is 800mm down the long wall away from the shower rail which seems a bit far out i.e not in the middle of the long wall even. They seem to have put the tap on the wall which backs onto the laundry, so maybe this was just a convenient position. Does anyone else have similar to this? Not sure whether to query it - I just have a feeling it may be annoying when using the shower?? Thanks, Roz Re: Position of shower head and taps? 2Mar 10, 2010 9:21 pm I'd definitely get them to change it if they can! We're getting a shower head that comes from the ceiling in a shower 2000x900. The mixer will be put at the 1000 mark, right below the shower head. You don't want to be stepping out from the water to make it hotter, walking back, finding it's too hot, walking back to make it cooler, walking back to find it's too cool You get the idea! Personally, I'd want it moved to under the shower head, even if it costs me money. Much better to get it done now before the tiles go up too I'll look into different shower heads and ask the plumber about some engineering and see what he says. My hesitation… 0 24692 If you can calculate the reasonable charged head from let's say 100mm below the gutter to the top of where the vertical riser's horizontal discharge pipe will be, that… 11 17530 |
