Browse Forums Bathrooms and Laundry 1 Aug 22, 2007 8:15 pm Hi all,
Just wondering if a lighter benchtop colour is a better option for bathroom vanity benches so as to blend with the basin colour. We chose a blue colour (mystique marine laminate by Parbury) with greyey blue cupboards( Cloud) has anyone gone for dark benchtops in the bathroom? Re: Bathroom benchtop colours 2Aug 22, 2007 8:28 pm Yes, we have a dark grey - Wilsonart 60 Graphite Nebula with white cupboards and grey floor tiles. I love the contrast.
In our last house we had a dark blue in the ensuite and dark green in the bathroom. I Re: Bathroom benchtop colours 4Aug 31, 2007 12:02 pm Hi in our last place we had Blue Sapphire Granite tops with antique white vinyl wrap doors in our bathroom with white semi-recessed vanity and in our ensuite we had black pearl granite (left over from the kitchen) over a Laminex Dark Pear timber vinyl wrap door configuration again with white semi recessed vanities.
We made sure that we kept the colours faily neutral and dressed the room up with coloured towels and accessories instead. In building our new home, we are going with Ice Snow Caesarstone in the Ensuite & are possibly looking at Cracked Pepper in the Bathroom over neutral colour doors, such as Laminex mushroom linea. Unless i change my mind again. Re: Bathroom benchtop colours 5Nov 20, 2007 5:02 am I think light colored is the way to go if you don't want the sink to stand out.
One of the places we lived in had beautiful dark granite benchtops in the bathrooms and kitchen, the strong contrast does highlight the vanity, and the benchtop itself. Someone recommended we go with whtie benchtop as it doesn't show dust, hair, toothpaste etc the way a darker one does. Plus the basin won't stand out. Re: Bathroom benchtop colours 7Nov 20, 2007 2:31 pm We went with C'stone "snow" and laminex nocturne oak in both ensuite and bathrooms. I love the dark like contrast.
I also like the c'stone with the sparkles in it and the cracked pepper. (I desperately wanted cracked pepper for kitchen but boss thought it was too chunky). I'm not a big fan of coloured benchtops in bathrooms as I think they can date the bathroom. For me its either light or dark no blues, greens, reds, etc Re: Bathroom benchtop colours 8Nov 20, 2007 2:53 pm dark tops .. light cupboards. we wanted the square basins to stand out Re: Bathroom benchtop colours 9Nov 20, 2007 5:49 pm we are going for charcoal floor tiles and benchtop with white cupboards. We like the contrast and want our sinks to stand out too.
