But it depends on your house and what you like. Re: Round or Square Vanity Basins 6Aug 20, 2007 9:32 am Looks like there's not going to be a clear winner here.... Sqaure for us!

Although I prob would have preferred the square as they do look awesome now I think about it!! All these things we think of after.... Re: Round or Square Vanity Basins 11Aug 20, 2007 7:48 pm I like oval and the ones that the front 1/2 of them protrudes from the front of the vanity unit.
Easy to clean and also a nice smooth harmonious look. But it all depends on your hosue and the rest of the fittings in other areas. Steve Re: Round or Square Vanity Basins 12Aug 21, 2007 3:18 am They will all look hopelessly dated in a few years, and all are hard to clean. The classic recessed basin with a top quality bench surface is the best look, easiest to clean, and least in danger of the "orange flares and ugg boots" effect. I disagree with that cause when I look at a recessed basin style I think that looks dated..... whereas the clean lines of a square basin looks modern but classic at the same time - yes the massive trend at the moment is the big square basins and I'm sure it will move to something else soon I think that anything with clean lines and with a well thought out design should stand the test of time .... So my vote is with the square basins ... I think they look great! Fiona Re: Round or Square Vanity Basins 14Aug 21, 2007 9:17 am How do you clean under the round 'salad bowl' type?
It's hard enough cleaning around the edges of an old style surface mount sink. Plenty of rubbing with the sponge to get the mould out, and plenty of rinsing will get the job done. You can't reach under the round ones. I'd imagine the glass type would give you a nice view of the mould when brushing your teeth. Re: Round or Square Vanity Basins 15Aug 21, 2007 1:52 pm Interesting subject - I've always been a fan of the oval bowls that are built into the cabinet.
While we were away last week, the apartment we were in had the bowls that look as though t hey are sitting on the bench. Wow! I love using them - as a taller person, they sit up a bit higher, and being fully round they are so much better to use. We decided on them for our new place. Other eye - round. Result - triangle dammit! Depends...
