Browse Forums Bathrooms and Laundry Re: Toilets with cisterns in the wall 21Feb 14, 2010 6:53 pm Instead of an inwall cistern, Id recommend this http://mainsflush.com.au/index.php?page=residential Its an electronically operated flush valve that sits either in ceiling void, wall cavity or wall duct. Ceiling is perhaps the best the best. Its electronically operated from a touchpad and if installed correctly is foolproof. There are few moving parts to them and are easy to service. Re: Toilets with cisterns in the wall 22Feb 14, 2010 10:09 pm It still looks like an in-wall cistern despite electronic flush.....potential for the electrics to go wrong also requiring a plumbing technician? Re: Toilets with cisterns in the wall 23Feb 15, 2010 1:05 pm It operates off a solenoid that easily unclips from the top of the valve and is easily replaceable. Im a plumber and Id much rather install and service a mains flush valve than an in wall cistern. Re: Toilets with cisterns in the wall 24Feb 16, 2010 1:25 am building aimlessly interesting that they cut your wall bracing to fit the cistern No they didn't cut the bracing, the main bracing you can't see starts in the top left corner above the toilet. The bracing in the photo is extra that I put in, not really necessary but I did it anyway. Plumbers who don't understand them install them wrong. My plumber installs more wall hung toilets than normal toilets. My family now has 8 wall hungs over 3 houses with no problems in 7 years. If they are installed right they work perfectly. Re: Toilets with cisterns in the wall 25Feb 16, 2010 10:01 am Quote: Plumbers who don't understand them install them wrong. Er, that's not correct. theres only one way to install them. As per manufacturer;s specifications. If they are not installed correctly, then they wont work at all. everything, no matter what it is, ceases to operate efficiently and needs repairs, whether it be an in wall cistern or a close coupled cistern. Some things are just easier to fix than other things and inwall cisterns when they need repairs can be a **** to repair, not matter how knowledgeable you think your plumber is. Things break and if you think your inwall cisterns wont break or need repairs at some stage, youre deluding yourself. I routinely repair inwall cisterns and are they my and most plumbers least favorite thing to repair, mostly because of the lack of access involved. access involved. This is the current bathroom with a european laundry. Overall internal dimensions are 3.69 wide and 3.65m deep, including the footprint of the laundry. There is a toilet… 0 10343 Thank you again Simeon.. I will call my certifier for that. Have a good day 4 5179 Thanks for the insights, that makes perfect sense, and yeah, I will be leaning on the experience of the excavator operator entirely. 6 16138 |
