For me personally - no. Mine is extremely tall in fact the kids need a footstool to climb in and then help to get back out.
It may be ok if you didn't choose a large or deep bath.

Re: Freestanding bathtub? 28May 18, 2011 12:23 pm becks81 Just bumping up this page, what material is best for freestanding tubs? Is acrylic ok? Hi Becks, ours is also arcylic, it looks ok now but will see in 18months time after a few uses. Does anyone know what you can use to polish the acrylic to try and keep it in good condition ? We don't have kids yet so the wear and tear will be from our very occasional use and maybe resting things like clothes, towels etc on the edge. Our current bath gets really dusty and it's such a pain to clean, I've been vacuuming it but I don't be going anywhere near our new one with the vacuum cleaner. Re: Freestanding bathtub? 30Jul 04, 2011 11:37 pm I'm loving our tub but it's not secured to the floor in any way, is this right? There is a flexipipe apparently and the plumber said that they are designed to be movable. I leaned on it to clean the tiles behind and it didn't feel very stable. Freestanding bathtub? 31Jul 05, 2011 8:02 am Ours isn't fixed to the floor other then the pipes and electrical cables. But it is extremely heavy so takes a fair push to move it. Ours is also the same width from top to base - doesn't narrow down like some I have seen, which I think adds to the stableness of it. Some things are worth waiting for. Re: Freestanding bathtub? 32Jul 05, 2011 11:42 am Ours narrows like danrts. I'm worried someone will try and sit on the edge and it will tip... Filled with water I guess this will not be an issues. I like that I can move it out slightly to get the vacuum or mop in though. Re: Freestanding bathtub? 33Jul 05, 2011 2:15 pm Freestanding looks so nice, I am having similar to danrts [img][/img] Re: Freestanding bathtub? 34Oct 03, 2011 6:46 pm I'm not a massive fan of acrylic, it can go yellow, goes dull. Looks amazing early on, but I'm sure modern acrylics have overcome those issue. Just read a lot of issue with cracks and splits with them. I would stick to stone, pressed steel.
