Browse Forums Bathrooms and Laundry 1 Dec 31, 2009 7:30 pm Hello all I purchased a small 3 bedroom house, two are small rooms and one medium to big, with a big block of land in south west Sydney I'm doing a complete tidy up. As the morgage is high i cant demolish and rebuild and this will be 15 years down the track so im thinking modern for now Next week I'm getting the bathroom side wall knocked down and positioned 1 meter up into bedroom 3 as the bathroom is too small and taking out bedroom 2 wall out into bedroom 3 this will make a L shape room and old bedroom 3 will be 2 meters long approx and 2.5 m wide. So I'm thinking this will now bedroom 2 be the main master room with old bedroom 3 a WIR and ensuite but how to design the WIR and Ensuite. Main question will approx 2 meters long maybe 2.1m and 2.5 w room cater for a little WIR and Ensuite? I know Ikea works wonders but i need feedback thanks heaps. Re: W.I.R with ensuite, 2m L 2.5M W Possible? 2Jan 01, 2010 8:47 am It might work - we had an ensuite that was only 1.6 x 1.8 (-ish, can't remember exactly now) and a slightly smaller WIR. But they were squeezed into a long rectangular area - your space is going to require a bit more ingenuity to fit everything in. A rough sketch would be helpful - positioning of existing or future doors and windows, and where the space is in relation to the bedroom, will impact on your layout. Any chance you can post one? Re: W.I.R with ensuite, 2m L 2.5M W Possible? 3Jan 01, 2010 8:50 am Would be extremely tight. Our minor ensuites are all 2m x 2m and they have a normal toilet, 900mm corner shower as well as a 900mm vanity. Personally I wouldn't try to fit anything else in there as it is fine at present for showering and then drying off. Some things are worth waiting for. Re: W.I.R with ensuite, 2m L 2.5M W Possible? 4Jan 01, 2010 11:28 am As its just the 2 of us and making the bathroom bigger in the first place i guess we should be happy with this and make just a WIR. I just saw webpages like this: http://www.bayviewbathrooms.co.uk/portfolio.php?id=4 which got my hoping and leaving 1 meter length on each side for a WIR leading to a ensuite. i dont know how to post my house design as i saved it to jpeg but not sure how to upload thanks Re: W.I.R with ensuite, 2m L 2.5M W Possible? 6Jan 07, 2010 7:34 pm I know this post was a few days ago but have just spent the last few hours planning our proposed ensuite of 2520lx1200w. I have looked at all of the narrow products available for bathrooms and allowed for 1200x900 shower space. I can squeeze everything in so I would think you will have a very spacious ensuite with your dimensions. Just don't try to crowd large appliances in and fill it with light and light colours - you should have a very workable space. I still can't figure out how they did the bathroom in that link I would have turned it into cupboard space. People make one happy, not houses? I do not think so. Houses are more to be trusted than people. Going to fit near 1 x 1m shower a nice 60 cm basin in the middle and a comfortable toilet. bad thing is towards main room i have 71 cms spare on each side for inbuilts Ikea has a great one at 75 cms " DARN " next is 67cm which is good and tall... All i can do... Everything is brought but i only have spare $5000 for plumber, tiler and electrician..... Need to find money lol yes it is possible but watch for noise transmission, decouple as best you can. Maybe wider top and bottom plates with 70mm studs to allow the cabinet to be recessed fully 1 6636 You can wash over existing pavers with 10% solution of water and hydrochloric acid, then wash off. The acid will provide for required bond key with new concrete. 1 36960 0 9807 |
