Browse Forums Bathrooms and Laundry 1 Dec 14, 2009 4:54 pm We were looking at a very stylish set of taps for the bathrooms but noticed that they do not have any indications about hot or cold on them. As we plan to have visitors in our home quite often this worries me a bit Has anyone had the same problem ? I am wondering if I could perhaps get some small red and green glass drops made to put on the different taps ? Any suggestions ? Re: Marking hot and cold taps 2Dec 14, 2009 4:56 pm The glass bizzos sound like a nice idea. I thought it was the norm that the hot was on the left? Although growing up in my parents house, the hot was always on the right... that's the only place it's ever ever ever been on the right (my folks are a little back to front...) Re: Marking hot and cold taps 3Dec 14, 2009 5:18 pm My Grandma's kitchen taps were back to front too. It was an Edwardian house - maybe the hot water was an afterthought? Cold is always on the right, it's universal (I think). Re: Marking hot and cold taps 7Dec 14, 2009 8:15 pm buildingwithhamra I have two HOT labelled taps for my bath!!!! I may need 2 hot taps here in Victoria I am putting in a large deep bath and I am looking forward to having my first bath in years !!! I plan to add insulation round and under the tub so the water stays hot for a while I have never seen an insulated bath for sale and most bathtubs seem to loose heat very quickly in cold weather when you actually want a long hot bath. Re: Marking hot and cold taps 8Dec 14, 2009 8:24 pm Any chance we can see a pic of the taps? Possumchops Now the proud owner of 3.7acres of Serenity. Colour selection completed! Re: Marking hot and cold taps 12Dec 16, 2009 8:59 pm Are you sure Hot & Cild aren't etched into the top of the handles? Have you seen them in the flesh? Re: Marking hot and cold taps 13Dec 16, 2009 9:48 pm Possumchops Are you sure Hot & Cild aren't etched into the top of the handles? Have you seen them in the flesh? Yep even the sales person thought it was pretty dumb not having them marked and is going to tell the rep when he calls next time. Re: Marking hot and cold taps 14Dec 16, 2009 10:06 pm You could take them to an engraving place before you have them installed. I've had a few things engraved over the years and it's only cost a few dollars. Maybe a simple 'H' and 'C'? Re: Marking hot and cold taps 15Dec 17, 2009 6:35 am You couldn't engrave them, it would damage the chrome, possibly cause it to lift and void your warranty. Dorf Myriad have a version that is somewhat similar. Not sure how they compare in pricing though. The ones you are looking at could be tricky, especially with final plumbing inspection there is a possibility they won't pass (we have a local guy that would not pass those). If that was the case, they could be a costly problem. Shame tho, they look good. Possumchops Now the proud owner of 3.7acres of Serenity. Colour selection completed! Soon to go to council. After our last experience with dorf taps we will never use them again Re: Marking hot and cold taps 17Dec 19, 2009 6:42 pm Gee I bet they are not cheap either, they are really lovely, you think for the price they could put a H or C on them? www.themaxbuild.blogspot.com forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=20717&start=300 www.leahspaperpassion.blogspot.com Re: Marking hot and cold taps 18Dec 19, 2009 7:06 pm themax Gee I bet they are not cheap either, they are really lovely, you think for the price they could put a H or C on them?
