Browse Forums Bathrooms and Laundry 1 Dec 11, 2009 7:17 am Hi, Not sure if anyone can advise, but our plumber is trying to charge us extra for installing one of these (apparently its harder to install as it needs go into the wall) rather than a standard toilet. Does anyone know if this is correct? Re: caroma metro invisi (in wall cistern) 2Dec 11, 2009 7:34 am I would assume there is a bit of extra mucking around. It wouldn't be as simple as installing a standard toilet by a long shot and would take considerably more time. Possumchops Now the proud owner of 3.7acres of Serenity. Colour selection completed! For the toilets, the installation, builders mark-up...... and asscoiated rip-off costs. I leave you to fend for yourself, figure things out yourself. Terrence Malick Re: caroma metro invisi (in wall cistern) 4Dec 11, 2009 8:58 am How much extra is he charging ? There is a bit of mucking around with them, but it's nothing major. Instead of the cistern being fixed to the wall, it gets fixed between studs. YOu still have to connect everything up in a similar way. And you have to install the buttons seperately, whereas they are attached in a normal cistern. My plumber didn't charge me anything extra to do mine (I never told him I had them when I gave him the order). Blog is now up - http://www.jbdave.blogspot.com/ Re: caroma metro invisi (in wall cistern) 5Dec 11, 2009 8:04 pm from what i have found of late anything the is not "Standard" attracts an added cost it may also be that the Plumber has never fitted one before & does not know how much extra time it will take, i would guess he has added 2 to 3 hours extra for fitting cheers rocket Re: caroma metro invisi (in wall cistern) 6Dec 11, 2009 10:20 pm he is trying to charge an extra 1.8k for plumbing, this includes 1 toilet with cistern in the wall and also 2 shower grates (rather than your normal single drain hole). He is also trying to tell us that as all our taps are mixers it's more expensive (which i don't believe for a second). Lastly i have a twin shower rail on that has a divertor to switch between the 2 shower head. The divertor is on the rail and aparently this is more expensive also... For the moment we have refused to pay, but we will probably end up having to offer them an extra $500 or so to shut them up it seems. Thank you again Simeon.. I will call my certifier for that.
