I am doing minor shower repairs and there is plenty of website on how to do this stuff..but this is not clear to me (may be it is understood and so not given). Do you grout edges and then can silicone over it or there is no grout in edges and it is all silicone that acts as grout / sealant?? Thanks, Tomsan Re: Grout / Silicone for shower wall & Floor edges 2Jan 05, 2010 7:54 pm The BCA has changed this standard quote a few times over the years, so check their website for updates but the general practice it to not grout the corners and just place silicon sealant (must be waterproof) Beleive it or not they actually went through a period where they did not what silicon or grout in the corners as it was assumed that as tiles are pores it would allow the water the moves though the tiles to be expelled onto the floor tiles then into the waste, this option needs to ensure that the waterproofing membrane is perfect!
