Browse Forums Bathrooms and Laundry 1 Oct 30, 2009 12:07 pm Thinking of putting a spa in our ensuite, however, to put it in we need to remove the toilet and put it on the other side of the room, nearly 3 meters from where it is now. Does anyone have any suggestions or ideas of how we go about making this change, the biggest thing we are worried about is moving the toilet, and we’re just not sure if it can be done as it means moving the pipes to the other side of the room, can you do this to a sewage pipe? Re: Ensuite change - can it be done? 3Oct 30, 2009 2:40 pm Anything can be done if you're prepared to spend the money (and put up with the inconvenience). Are you on a slab or stumps? We moved plumbing in our old bathroom, but it was a bit of a no-brainer as we were on stumps with a timber floor, and all the waste pipes were suspended under the floor. If you're on a slab, it's a bit trickier, but concrete can always be jackhammered and holes filled. As noted by EKT though, the cost might be more than you're prepared to pay. Re: Ensuite change - can it be done? 4Oct 30, 2009 2:52 pm Thanks EKT and kek, I thought as much, the advantage we have is my partner’s dad is a builder, but I still think its going to cost the earth. We have this grand idea of removing the wall beside where we would put the spa and put bi folds in, erect a veranda that we can fully close off so that in summer we can open the bi folds and have a spa in an open area without the neighbors seeing anything, but, to do this, the toilet needs to be moved, the spa isn't so bad because the drain will be against the wall we would be removing and there is already power there. We are on a slab, so I know its going to be expensive, its just a pain because we wanted our builder (Porter Davis) to move the toilet where we wanted it before building, but they wouldn’t do it. If not and you are on a slab it just means the slab needs to be cut and a new pipe laid which isn't the most expensive thing but introduces more complexity co-ordinating everyone. I work with owner, he/she is my man on the ground and I instruct them when to visit the site and take photos and I have other tools in the bag. 4 9638 Depends what you're current inclusions are, but we're not including wardrobes and will just use second hand ones until we can save later on to get them built.
