Browse Forums Bathrooms and Laundry 1 Oct 19, 2009 11:27 pm I am new to this site and have been reading through many posts and have learned a lot already! I thought I would put my plans so far up for comments. I am just at the planning/buying stage. This is how it looks now - Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ I am planning to put a double vanity here, 1500mm long. I love the Ideal Standard Tonic basins, not sure about taps yet as the existing ones are on the basin and maybe I'll need wall mounted ones with this basin. I would love a wall hung vanity but as the current waste pipe goes through the floor, I'm not sure if I can. Big mirror above. Don't know whether to build the new vanity into the corner again or not. Don't know if I need a little step thing or if I can just have the floor flat (does that make any sense?!) Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Weird little bath - it has been great for the kids but now it's time for it to go! I'll be removing all the brickwork and replacing bath with freestanding oval bath in same diagonal position. Maybe a spa bath if I'm lucky! I'm not sure where the taps or outlet will go. Toilet - no pic but I am planning to replace existing loo with a boxed in cistern one. It is next to the window and it always gets covered in dirt and is a pain to clean at the moment. I figure if I tile over the cistern it will make things easier to keep clean. I've seen the Hideaway ones at Reece - anyone know about these? Window - replacing glass with frosted. Towel rail - really like these http://www.reece.com.au/bathrooms/products/280975 but my light switch might get in the way. Tiles - AHH, the big decision being made at the moment! These are the feature tiles I LOVE! Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ There is a matching tile in the plain off-white, they would be laid vertically. They are 316 x 450mm. The floor tiles are in the dark brown colour 450 x 450mm. Still deciding what to do with them. Either A. Fully tile the shower area in the feature tile and have the plain ones everywhere else. Up to ceiling height probably. B. Have a vertical strip of feature tile on the far wall of the shower and a horizontal one above vanity. Plain everywhere else. C. Fully tile the shower area in the feature tile AND have a horizontal strip above vanity. Am worried that doing A or C would perhaps be too much, but am worried that B wouldn't be enough impact. What do you think? Not sure about vanity colours either. Maybe dark doors and a light top - or the other way round??! I am so excited to be getting this started. It's a nice size for an ensuite as it used to be the main bathroom before another one was built at the back of the house. There used to be a door next to the sink which is why the vanity unit stops where it does. Sorry for the essay! I'd appreciate any comments as I'll be organising everything myself and I don't want to get things wrong!! Thanks, No. It's not original. Circa early to mid 90s would be my guess and maybe even as late as early 2000s 1 5564 Thanks for the suggestion. The space between shower and sinks was too tight. I agree about the toilet location. So I have tried two other options: The lower one is… 3 5672 the step up is 30mm and wanting it to be flat . how much does the concrete have to be lowered .we plan on removing bath and lenghten shower and adding seat. the old bath… 0 10501 |
