Browse Forums Bathrooms and Laundry 1 Oct 10, 2009 9:29 pm Not sure if there is a way around this.. the pipes for our basin are currently sticking out of the floor (in a concrete slab). Is there anyway to change this, as I would really like to have a wall hung vanity unit. I know you can have an S-Trap Bottle Trap thinging however i don't particularly like the look of these.. is there another way to achieve the wall hung look? Please help anyone.. Re: Wall Hung Vanity - Please Help!! 2Oct 11, 2009 1:48 pm Depending on how far out from the wall the pipes are, you could use a cabinet with a narrow base (recessed beneath the main part of the cabinet) for the kickboards, and if you tile it to match the floor, it may not be noticeable at all. Not wall-hung, but you get a similar visual effect, depending on the size of the room and the placement of the vanity. This is ours: Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ The base is just MDF, tiled the same as the floor. Because of the viewing distance and angle, you don't even see it, so the vanity looks like it "floats". I think changing the plumbing would be a painful and probably expensive process - jackhammering concrete doesn't sound like fun to me.... Hi, what a great idea.. i agree the vanity looks like it floats. Thanks for posting the pic!! Re: Wall Hung Vanity - Please Help!! 6Oct 12, 2009 8:24 am hmmmmm EKT Hi there. We had ours changed for $150 for the same reason Hi, How did they change it? Would be very interested to know.. then I can approach our builder and ask. I'll have to ask hubby but I'm pretty sure the plumber came back in and had to dig up part of the concrete - they were in that day anyway doing our wall plumbing for the rest of the house so it wasnt out of the way for them - we just had to wait for the until after the brickwork was complete so its a while after slab. Spoke to our builder today and the side wall for where the vanity would sit is adjacent to the laundry. He thinks it will be quite easy to run the pipe through the side and into the laundry pipe that is already there. They would just close off the pipe that is currently sitting in the concrete directly below. Fingers crossed this plan works!!! What's the name of the green you used? My partner doesn't like it but I think it looks fab! Re: Wall Hung Vanity - Please Help!! 13Oct 18, 2009 7:12 pm Dollar lol Kek. What's the name of the green you used? My partner doesn't like it but I think it looks fab! Who cares what your partner thinks...? The colour is Wattyl Fortune. Lovely pale green.... not girly at all, but light and refreshing. I love it with our chocolate and natural stone colours, but it'd go well with creams or beiges or some darker greens. Re: Wall Hung Vanity - Please Help!! 14Oct 18, 2009 9:58 pm lol true. Do you have a window on the wall of the shower? How does that work?
