Browse Forums Bathrooms and Laundry 1 Sep 19, 2009 9:16 am Hi All I live in SA Well ive been reading the forum for a while now, trying to get ideas. We now need to do up our ensuite bathroom due to a leak/lack of sealing. we got a quote from out tiler who is also a bulider/reno but relise most of the cost is in labour. My hubby is a project manager and thought maybe we could do this job ourselves a little ,and he project mange it, only draw back to this is he works away during the week(home on weekends) I wasnt into the idea at first as just had the whole house in turmoil due to having porc tiles laid throughout main living areas and am still cleaning up , returning furniture to rooms. Then i thought well im sure we could gut the ensuite ourselves, my hubby wants to have a go at gyprocking etc, im uncertain about him doing all this part with no experience, is it really that hard and what do we need to keep in mind. I will try and post pics of our current ensuite and selections we were looking at when i work out how to do it. I live in SA so even names of comapnies or reno people others may of used and and reasonable costs. Thanks in advance for any suggestions Re: SA new to forum, thinking of renovating ensuite 2Sep 19, 2009 10:02 am My professional gyrocker couldnt even get my bath hob straight, but I guess that is due to lack of caring not talent. I think it would be too hard without any experience to do it yourself. I know a jack of all trades that does gyprocking if you are interested he charges about $40 and hour. What you are looking at is fibrous plaster, true gypsum, it is cast on horizontal beds with fibers included to give strength. I has no Asbestos in it. Houses before 1985… 2 7142 isn't a garage level with the rest of the house a given? pretty sure they 'came around' long time ago. if you have a flat block, the garage is usually level with the rest… 1 17528 2 31357 |
