They were invented by Europeans many years ago because they did not shower every day. So used the bidet for in between days. Had enough trouble trying to squeeze a bloomin toilet, basin and shower into the Powder room let - a lone another bit of ceramic... sorry had to edit and add the obvious. - NO EXTRA CLEANING NEEDED..have enough dunnies to scrub already. www.themaxbuild.blogspot.com forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=20717&start=300 www.leahspaperpassion.blogspot.com Re: Bidets 8Aug 29, 2009 2:00 pm Anyway, haven't they heard of loo paper? not too mention "every drop counts'' (pardon the pun ) www.themaxbuild.blogspot.com forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=20717&start=300 www.leahspaperpassion.blogspot.com Re: Bidets 9Aug 29, 2009 2:21 pm I will be putting in 2. The Asian style. Thats like a short garden hose next to the toilet with a trigger, squiter on the end. Each to their own as to these, and the traditional Bidets. If you have septic or a sewer pump system it may be worth considering. In some cultures it is considered discusting to use toilet paper & it blocks the pipes. Why not be open to alternatives. If you think about it, its just like running your a## by the car wash, only cheaper. I was just trying to be a little funny, I am not very good at it I'm afraid. Of course, it's each to their own, I agree. I am all for that. I understand that Asian culture as it is part of my heritage. So do we get a piccie of the beautiful bidets when they're in??? www.themaxbuild.blogspot.com forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=20717&start=300 www.leahspaperpassion.blogspot.com Re: Bidets 11Aug 29, 2009 6:11 pm How do you dry your bum though?? As to how do you dry, personally Im a drip dry fan myself, but a his and hers towle set would look great next to the bidets. Once you have tried them you wont look back, literally. lol There is an old chinesse saying " a wet bum is better than a smelly bum" or something like that. Re: Bidets 14Aug 30, 2009 4:14 pm aaron4erin Just got back from 5 weeks travelling around Europe, the awful things were everywhere we stayed. I took a wide berth around them, they're hideous things. Agreed. They are hanging on to a tradition that evolved due to lack of an affordable and readily available better alternative ie. paper. Now the alternative is here and they are sticking with it. Re: Bidets 15Sep 18, 2009 11:21 pm So, let me ask you this. Do you only use paper to wipe things off your hands? I mean things less dirty than poo? Think about it:) I would love to have one of those electronic ones used in Japan (washlet) but don't think I can convince my aussie partner:) Greg Re: Bidets 16Sep 19, 2009 7:32 am King willy I will be putting in 2. The Asian style. Thats like a short garden hose next to the toilet with a trigger, squiter on the end. Where will you be getting them King Willy? We're considering installing those handheld ones. It does feel much cleaner when you wash and wipe. It also makes the paper softer so its doesn't irritate that sensitive part. It is a sensitive topic after all...so to each their own Re: Bidets 17Sep 22, 2009 4:35 pm We put a power point by each toilet for a powerpoint so that we can add a Japanese style bidet shower toilet lid. Re: Bidets 18Oct 18, 2009 2:54 pm I personally don't like them. You'd need a towel to dry each time and if you have one in the main bathroom you may have guests who choose to use the bidet..then what d you do..have towels and a laundry basket after each use. No thanks. Re: Bidets 19Oct 19, 2009 3:00 am You can use toilet paper to dry yourself, and flush it. Cleans better, and still dry, with no 'dirty' laundry to worry about. Only disadvantage is that you are still using toilet paper so not saving the environment or costs. |
